FOUNDERS

Driven by a shared passion for the game, our founders established this foundation to bridge the gap between resources and opportunity. Together, they lead our global mission to equip the next generation of athletes.

“I am a student athlete at Maranatha High School in Pasadena California.  I currently play shortstop on the Varsity team.  Ever since I can remember, I have loved playing baseball.  I enjoy and appreciate the challenges that playing a competitive sport gives me.  Through baseball, I met Sebastien (Sebby) Grove and his family. Through this friendship, and Sebby’s younger brother Vincent, we have created SoCal Double Play Foundation.  We noticed that a lot of our teammates, including ourselves, didn’t know what to do with our used baseball equipment.  The light bulb turned on and Sebby, Vincent, and I decided to form The SoCal Double Play Foundation.”

“I am a high school student athlete from Los Angeles who absolutely loves the game of baseball.  The first time I picked up a baseball bat I knew this was going to be my life’s passion.  Baseball is more than just a part of my life: it is at the core of who I am. The game has taught me so many lessons from hard work, to being a great teammate to making friends all over the United States.  I feel so lucky to have baseball in my life, and helping others through the work of the SoCal Double Play Foundation is a way for me to pass along joy for the game to others.”

Sebastien “Sebby” Grove

“Ever since I can remember, I have always been near the game of baseball — from tee ball and little league to travel ball. I instantly fell in love with the game after hearing the roar of the crowd. I have been so lucky to have an older brother who introduced me to the game of baseball when I was very young.  My primary positions are MIF and pitcher.  Any chance I get to practice, play or be near a field is a great day.”
